Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Measure Your Chest
Wrap a soft tape measure under your armpits and across the fullest part of your chest. Keep it snug but not tight. Round to the nearest half inch. For Flagrant hoodies, add 2 inches to your chest measurement to account for the fleece lining. The size chart uses chest as the primary metric.
Step 2: Measure Your Length
From the top of your shoulder (where the seam would sit) down to where you want the hem - usually at the top of your hipbone. Flagrant hoodies are 2-3 inches longer than tees. If you're over 6 feet, consider sizing up for sleeve length even if chest fits.
Step 3: Check the Sleeve Length
Measure from the center back of your neck, across the shoulder, and down to your wrist bone. Flagrant hoodies have set-in sleeves, so don't expect stretchy cuffs to compensate. I've seen customers order a Large for chest but then the sleeves only hit mid-forearm. Compare your sleeve measurement against the chart before clicking buy.
Step 4: Decide on Intended Fit
Are you layering over a hoodie? Size up one. Want a trim look under a jacket? Stick with your true size. Flagrant tees shrink about 3% in length after the first wash - I recommend going one size up if you prefer your tees untucked. The Heavy Tee has a boxy cut that looks best true to size unless you like an oversized drape.
Step 5: Child Size Adjustment
For kids, measure the chest and height, then compare to the kid's size chart. Flagrant kid's hoodies use the same fabric blend but scaled proportions. My rule of thumb: if the child wears a youth Large in Nike, order the same in Flagrant. Don't size up for growth - the fleece holds shape.
